A Utah Roofer Quadrupled Its Clicks From Google

A local roofing company in Utah had a solid website but very little reach beyond its own name. After we set up a blog, regular Google Business Profile posts and the signals AI assistants use to identify a business, clicks to its site from Google went from 6 to 25 per 28 days.

Google figures are Search Console totals for the first 28 days we tracked versus the 28 days to October 11, 2026, so they include some seasonal change. The AI-readiness score is our homepage audit, the same one behind our free AI Visibility Check. We don't name the business.

The starting point

The site already scored well on technical basics, but almost nothing pointed search engines or AI assistants to it beyond searches for the company name. It had no blog, no regular Business Profile activity, and little to connect it to the wider web.

What we did

  • Set up a blog on our content service, with topics drawn from the questions local homeowners ask.
  • Set up regular Google Business Profile posts.
  • Added AI-search signals to the site: links tying the business to its Google Knowledge Graph entry and profiles, owner details in structured data, an llms.txt file and an RSS feed.

The honest read

The average Google position went from 4.5 to 11.6. That isn't a drop in rankings: the site now shows up for many more searches than just its own name, and most of those new ones start lower down. Some of the growth came before the content work landed in early October, so we credit the overall program rather than any single change.
