A Roofing Contractor More Than Doubled Its Google Visibility
An owner-operated roofing and siding contractor in the central US came to us with a site that AI assistants could barely read and a blog that had quietly stopped publishing. Within about three months its AI-readiness score went from 43 to 92, and it showed up in Google searches 148% more often.
The results
| Measure | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| AI-readiness score | 43/100 (Jul 5) | 92/100 (Oct 13) |
| Technical SEO score | 82/100 | 100/100 |
| Google impressions, 28 days | 1,787 | 4,431 (+148%) |
| Average Google position | 41.5 | 25.7 |
| Google clicks, 28 days | 11 | 12 |
Google figures are Search Console totals for the first 28 days we tracked versus the 28 days to October 11, 2026, so they include some seasonal change. The AI-readiness score is our homepage audit, the same one behind our free AI Visibility Check. We don't name the business.
The starting point
The website ran on a hosted app builder, and its blog automation pointed at the wrong address, so new posts had silently stopped going out. The homepage scored 43 out of 100 for AI readiness: AI assistants could load it but found little they could confidently describe.
What we did
- Moved the website to our hosting in August 2026, with the content and lead capture intact.
- Fixed the blog setup so posts can publish on its own subdomain again.
- Brought the homepage up to full technical and AI-search standards: structured data describing the business, clean titles and headings, and a sitemap.
The honest read
This is a visibility win, not yet a leads win. The business now appears far more often and higher in Google, but clicks are flat so far. The next step is turning that visibility into calls: answer-first service pages and more reviews and listings that AI assistants cite.
